Platforms like Netflix are investing heavily in anime, making them as a direct competitor.    Not just about outside of platform, but in-platform problems like spending and gaining is also their challenge, Licensing Costs and creating/funding original IPs is high. And even higher from growing demand from anime popularity. At the same time, gaining and maintain user is harder, new platform with promotions and convincing price to content they receive.
